How to Make Birria Carne Recipes

  1. Spicy toasted bread on a normal or skillet. Discard the stems and seeds. Place them in a bowl of warm water (not too hot!) And allow to infuse around 15-20 minutes. After you finish soaking the chili in a blender with vinegar and making a paste, you may need to add a little chili water to it.
  2. Mix salt, pepper, cloves, oregano, cumin, cinnamon, and thyme. Apply this mixture over the meat very well. Take half of the chili paste and apply it over the meat. Place the meat in the refrigerator to soak overnight.
  3. Fill the Dutch oven with water. Add the chopped onion, bay leaves, garlic, and the remaining chili sauce into the water. Place the meat on a shelf right on the water. Cover and bake for 4 hours at 350 degrees.
  4. Remove the meat and put it in the serving bowl. Let the liquid cool slightly and lift the bay leaf. Blend the liquid and add enough hot water to make at least 2 cups. Pour the liquid over the meat and cover with minced onions and coriander leaves. Serve with warm corn tortillas.

Additional information:

"Another way to serve this is by first removing bay leaves from the liquid. If the liquid is too runny, reduce it to boil it in a small skillet. Cover pieces of meat with a reduced chili sauce. Use meat to fill the tortilla and top it with onions and coriander leaves."
